Some causative factorsThe survival rate of 153 melanoma patients treated with the Gerson therapy, which restricts the intake of protein, sodium and fat and increases potassium and vitamin/mineral intake by the regular administration of freshly pressed fruit and vegetable juices, were compared with patients in the mainstream literature. For stage I and II melanoma, no Gerson patients suffered progress of the disease after admission, compared with an average survival rate of 79% for conventionally treated patients. For stage III melanoma 71% of the Gerson patients survived for 5 years, compared with only 27% to 42% in conventionally treated patients.
